Elaine completed her undergraduate education at Abilene Christian University where she studied biology and kinesiology before attending PA school at UT Southwestern. She discovered a love of pediatrics while in PA school and has practiced in pediatric emergency medicine, urgent care and cardiology before joining PAD. Passionate about education, she frequently precepts PA students and lectures on various pediatric and mental health topics affecting today’s youth. She has a particular interest in eating disorders. In addition to teaching about eating disorder identification, evaluation and medical management, she also participates in advocacy work at both the state and national level. She believes eating disorders are best treated as a team with the patient and family at the center and enjoys collaborating with therapists and dieticians in a relentless pursuit of complete recovery.
Outside of work Elaine is an avid cyclist and enjoys playing piano, crocheting, and spending time with her cocker spaniel Emmy.
