Children’s Health has developed a dedicated newborn circumcision program that is partnered with Pediatric Associates of Dallas. It is staffed by experience pediatric urologists to have newborn males evaluated within 3 weeks such that a circumcision can done in the office before a weight of greater than 13 pounds. If the infant has a significant genital abnormality which precludes a newborn circumcision, counseling will be given to the family. A circumcision can be performed at approximately 6 months of age when the genital abnormality is surgically corrected as a day surgery procedure.
